Privacy policy
for the use of the App
Kappa Scopic®

Kappa Filter Systems GmbH (“Kappa”) with its registered office in Im Steyr and its business address in Stadtgut A1, 4407 Steyr-Gleink, registered with the Companies’ Register of the Steyr Regional Court under FN 32750 m (the “Controller”) offers the Kappa Scopic® App (the “App”), which is available in Apple App Store, Google Play Store and Microsoft Store. Through the App the customer can retrieve the current status, operate and monitor and optimise the operation and maintenance of certain Kappa products.
1. General Information
1.1 Kappa Filter Systems GmbH with business address in Im Stadtgut A1, 4407 Steyr-Gleink, E-Mail: office@kappa-fs.com is the Controller for the data processing in the App.
1.2 The Controller is aware that the protection and careful processing of the customer’s personal data is very important. This Privacy Policy clarifies the nature, scope and purposes of the collection and use of customer data by the Controller.
1.3 The Controller will use details, information and data provided by clients exclusively in accordance with EU legal requirements, this Privacy Policy and, if applicable, the clients’ consent.
1.4 The customer has the right to adapt, replace and/or change the data provided. The customer shall keep the data provided up-to-date and correct.
2. Collection and use of personal data
The following personal data of the customer are processed or can be processed:
- E-mail address;
- Password;
- Log data;
- IP address.
3. Purpose of the collection of personal data and legal basis
3.1 The registration (creation of the user account) takes place using the customer’s e-mail address.
3.2 The e-mail address and the password are collected for the purpose of performing the agreement, specifically, to create an individual personal user account and verify the user’s identity. The e-mail address and password are required to perform the agreement.
3.3 After a user account has been created (= an agreement has been entered into), the customer can decide to change the password at any time.
3.4 Log data are processed to be able to identify or reduce technical errors and to be able to comply with maintenance obligations. Log data are required to perform the agreement.
4. Storage duration
4.1 The Controller only stores the data for as long as is necessary to perform the agreement. The Controller shall delete all customer data after termination of the contractual relationship, and in any event, at the latest, after the statutory mandatory storage period elapses, in particular in accordance with the commercial and tax accounting regulations.
4.2 The Controller shall delete the user’s data at the latest two years after the user has not used the App. The right to erasure as set out in point 5.2. of this Privacy Policy remains unaffected.
5. Cookies
5.1 Cookies are small text files that are stored on the App user’s mobile device or computer.
5.2 The cookies employed in the App are necessary for the user to use the services provided by Kappa in the App.
6. Rights of the customer
6.1 The customer can demand information about his stored data at any time, free of charge and without delay. For further information, the customer can contact Kappa Filter Systems GmbH, Im Stadtgut A1, 4407 Steyr-Gleink, Germany, by e-mail to office@kappa-fs.com or by post.
6.2 The customer has the right to rectification or erasure of his data or to limit the processing of his data. In addition, the customer has a right to object to the processing as well as a right to receive the personal data concerning him in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format (right to data portability).
6.3 The customer has the right to contact the Austrian Data Protection Authority, Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna, Tel.: +43 1 52 152-0, e-mail: dsb@dsb.gv.at to lodge a complaint in case of a personal data breach.
